The all-time favourite Pines have been embroiled in controversy this year – are they going or are they staying? Featuring some of the nation’s best flowy trails and kudos to the local trail builders, the Pines are a hit with all grades of riders from beginners to the advanced. The Pines are a highlight of the annual Cape 2 Cape race and it’s not hard to see why. With fast, sweeping berms and fun jumps the Pines have been the mecca for riders visiting the South West of the past few years.
A few of the pines trails were lost to logging in 2015 but the majority of the trails are still kicking for at least another year. MRORCA and the local community will be campaigning hard to have the Pines made a permanent feature of the Margaret River trail region. The trails are within easy 10 minute ride of the town site via the river trails. Take the Meenie Keenan trail along Carters till you get onto Rails to Trails. Follow MRORCA red arrows up the hill to Pines. There is also parking in the Pines for those commuting from further afar. Make sure you visit the pines and the new trails in adjacent in Compartment 10 – help keep this popular trail network alive by supporting MRORCA and show your support for these trails.
